Are You Ready For Some Charity?

Dollar Loan Center Commits $100 to Opportunity Village For Every Raiders Touchdown This Season

Dollar Loan Center is continuing its commitment to Las Vegas’ “€œfavorite charity”€ with a new campaign close to every football fan’s heart”€¦touchdowns. Through the end of the season, the company will donate $100 to Opportunity Village for every touchdown made by the Oakland Raiders.

“€œI’ve been a Raiders fan since I was 12 years old, so it was the first team I thought of when we put this program together,”€ said Charles Brennan, CEO of Dollar Loan Center. “€œIt’s a fun way to follow the games and raise money for an organization that really appreciates it.”€

The Raiders’ first regular season game is scheduled for September 12 against the Denver Broncos. As part of the campaign, all Raiders games will be broadcast live on KLAV AM 1230. For the local schedule and details, visit www.klav1230am.com. To keep up with statistics for the Oakland Raiders this season, visit www.raiders.com.

“€œLast year, the Raiders scored 44 touchdowns in regular season play,”€ said Brennan. “€œI hope they score more than that this season. We look forward to helping Opportunity Village again and seeing the Raiders win.”€

The football program follows Dollar Loan Center’s second annual “€œHeat Is On”€ campaign that gave Opportunity Village $100 for every day the temperature in Southern Nevada reached 100 degrees or more. Both last year and this year, Brennan’s company donated $15,000 to the charity.

“€œOpportunity Village is an organization that needs donations on a regular basis to help those who can’t otherwise help themselves,”€ said Brennan. “€œIt serves community members that can’t speak for themselves and are often overlooked by major charitable programs. We hope this campaign will bring awareness to people who may otherwise not hear about them.”€

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. It provides them with vocational training, employment and social recreation services. Every month, Opportunity Village helps more than a thousand people with disabilities learn vocational skills, get jobs, pay taxes and live more fulfilling lives.

“€œDollar Loan Center has once again stepped up to the plate helping us raise desperately needed dollars to expand our programs and services for people with disabilities,”€ said Linda Smith, chief development officer and foundation associate executive director for Opportunity Village. We truly appreciate their efforts to help these important members of our community.”€

Brennan is a well-known philanthropist in addition to serving as CEO of DLC Empire. Loan Shack, his company that provides online short-term loans, is in the process of expanding nationwide and is currently operating in 17 U.S. states.

Also this year, Brennan made a major commitment to a popular local youth sports program. Henderson Little League, on the brink of shutting down for the 2011 season due to loss of major sponsors, was able to resume operations with a $10,000 donation from Dollar Loan Center. More than 600 children participate in Henderson Little League, the city’s largest baseball organization.
