Dollar Loan Center owners Chuck Brennan and Keith Bergh continued their efforts to help revitalize a Sioux Falls, South Dakota neighborhood this week with a $5,000 donation to the Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association. The company, which operates in four states, houses its corporate headquarters in the neighborhood.
Pettigrew Heights spokesperson Kathryn Henning, association president Mark Sanderson and Bergh marked the donation by opening a new account and depositing Dollar Loan Centers donation at One American Banks Pettigrew Heights new branch opening. Henning, Sanderson and Bergh were the new branchs first customers on its opening day November 5.
Dollar Loan Center majority owner Chuck Brennan committed the funds to the neighborhood during the grand opening of his Brennan Rock & Roll Academy last month, where he committed $3 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire for the next 20 years for its operations. He also dedicated a new Pettigrew Heights neighborhood entryway sign at the grand opening.
Brennan has been a vocal supporter of Pettigrew Heights revitalization. The executive grew up in the area and built his corporate headquarters on a city block in the neighborhood which houses three buildings. Over the past several years, he has invested millions of dollars into the redevelopment and revitalization of Pettigrew Heights.
Our neighborhood association is excited to welcome One American Bank to Pettigrew Heights, and are grateful that this block is seeing so many wonderful upgrades, said Sanderson. We are also very grateful to Dollar Loan Center for its significant investment for our neighborhood associations future work, he said, referencing the areas future plans for a multi-unit dwelling.
The Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood encompasses the areas between 9th and 16th Streets from Grange Avenue to Minnesota Avenue. The Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association acts as a voice to those who live and work in the historic neighborhood. Through partnerships with the City of Sioux Falls, nonprofit organizations and businesses, the association works to bring about positive changes to the area.
Brennan is a well-known philanthropist in Sioux Falls and has given millions of dollars to community organizations in South Dakota and Nevada as well as national organizations. In both 2011 and 2012, Brennan was the largest single supporter of Henderson Little League which serves more than 600 youth baseball players. He is also a major supporter of Opportunity Village in Las Vegas in addition to Alice Coopers Solid Rock Foundation which helps at risk youth in the Phoenix area.
