The Stores Are the Whole Show
Everything else at DLC exists to keep those counters open and the people behind them able to do their jobs.
We have been at this since 1998, we are in 90+ locations, and we call ourselves your community short-term lender because the person walking through the door usually lives a few blocks away.
How Stores and Support Teams Team Up
Store teams are small, which means you handle a lot yourself. When something is bigger than a store can solve, there is a team for it.
- Collections. Works the accounts that have fallen behind, so stores are not carrying that alone.
- Underwriting and credit. Owns lending criteria and the calls that sit outside standard approval.
- Compliance. Sets the rules, runs the training and answers the question you should never guess at.
- IT and technical support. Keeps systems, phones, kiosks, cameras and connectivity alive. Regional technical support handles store issues on the ground.
- Marketing. Signage, promotions, local campaigns and the website.
- HR and payroll. Hiring, benefits, pay and anything you would rather not take to your manager.
- Accounting. Cash reconciliation and store reporting.
- Data analytics. Turns what happens in stores into the numbers leadership makes decisions with.
- Warehouse and facilities. Supplies, equipment, signage and new store buildouts.
This works when it runs both directions. Support teams do not find out what is broken from a dashboard, they find out because a Store Manager told them. Speaking up about a process that is not working is part of the job here, not a complaint.
What a Normal Week Looks Like in a Store
Mornings lean toward calls and follow-ups, midday and afternoon bring the walk-in traffic. Closing means counting the drawer and squaring the day, every day, no shortcuts.
Some weeks you will work a different store. Covering a nearby location when they are short-handed is part of the gig, which is why reliable transportation is a hiring requirement and not a nice-to-have.
Stores are closed on Sundays.
Most of the week is routine. The part that is not routine is why this job takes real judgment. Someone walks in embarrassed, or angry, or with a situation that does not fit the form. How you handle that is the job.
Our Core Values
Fun. Customers can tell when you like your job. It shows in how they get greeted.
Active participation. Take the initiative without being asked. Trash is full? Empty it. Floor is dirty? Vacuum it. Got downtime? Find out who needs a hand.
Trust and respect. Do what you said you would do. No shortcuts on loan processing or collections, no waiting around for someone else to grab the phone and show up on time.
Commitment. Help the customer who walks in five minutes before close instead of telling them to come back tomorrow.
Accountability and honesty. When it goes right, you get the credit. When it goes wrong, you take the consequences.
Positive attitude. Raise problems straight, then focus on the fix.
Stories From Our Teams
You will get a much better read on this place from the people who work here than from a careers page. Our team members tell their own stories under Life at DLC, including how they started, what surprised them and where they ended up.
What We Ask, and What You Get Back
What we ask. Show up for your shift, because a small team feels it when you do not. Follow the compliance rules even when they slow you down, because they protect the customer first. And treat somebody who is short on money like a neighbor, which is the entire reason this company exists.
What you get back. Training before you are on your own, a manager who tells you where you actually stand and a real path to more responsibility when you want it.
