Las Vegas Philanthropist Hosts Star-Studded Evening

Written by Dollar Loan Center. Posted in Charity, DLC, Entertainment

Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan pulled out all the stops at his annual company holiday party recently. Bringing in his famous friends from around the country, the business owner and philanthropist helped raise nearly $300,000 for charity while giving 500 employees and guests a night to remember including $250,000 in cash and prizes.

“If there is a ‘best boss in America’ award, Chuck Brennan deserves it,” said Shon McKee, senior manager for Dollar Loan Center. “We got to experience an evening we will never forget and truly live like rock stars for the night.”

Brennan, a long-time rock music lover and former music industry executive, opened the evening with The Doors’ Robby Krieger playing “LA Woman,” followed by “Roadhouse Blues” with actor Val Kilmer, who famously portrayed Jim Morrison in the 1991 movie about the iconic band.

Brennan then introduced comedian-musician Gary Mule Deer, who entertained the audience before they were treated to a musical set that included rock legend Alice Cooper, Jack Blades of Night Ranger and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. The trio was accompanied by rock music legends Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer of the band KISS while Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley cheered in the audience. Brennan is long-time friends with the band and can always count on KISS when it comes to help raising money for great charities.

“It was an incredible, star-studded evening and I’m thrilled that everyone had such a good time,” said Brennan, “To be able to raise nearly $300,000 in a matter of minutes is very humbling.”

Over $200,000 of the donations are going directly to Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation. The Phoenix based, non-profit organization provides programs and resources for at-risk teens.  “Chuck and his wife Mary are our biggest contributors and this event is absolutely amazing,” said Cooper, “They need to televise this event each year so everyone can witness it!”

During the evening, Brennan also announced a $20,000 donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in the name of Robby Krieger as well as a $10,000 donation to Rupert’s Kids, the nonprofit organization founded by Survivor’s Rupert Boneham who was also a guest at the event.

Throughout the evening, famed “Speed Painter” Rock Demarco showcased his talents with artwork that was created live at the event and auctioned off for more than $100,000.

“And of course Dollar Loan Center employees got their own surprises during the evening,” said Brennan. “Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer helped me give away four brand new KISS Mini Coopers to our staff” said Brennan. “Everyone walks away happy at our annual celebration.  The prizes ranged from $100 in cash to a new car!”

The company has posted a 5 minute highlight video on the Dollar Loan Center YouTube page for public viewing.

Touchdown! Opportunity Village Receives Thousands In Football Campaign

Written by Dollar Loan Center. Posted in Charity, DLC, News

Dollar Loan Center CEO Charles Brennan loves the Oakland Raiders. The long-time fan shared his enthusiasm for the team with one of his favorite local charities, Opportunity Village, this month in a new fundraising campaign.

“I want everyone to be as excited as I am about Raiders touchdowns, so I committed $100 for every touchdown the team scored during the regular season,” he said. “It was a great way to cheer on the team and raise money for this great organization.”

The Raiders scored 38 touchdowns during their regular football season, netting $3,800 to Opportunity Village. The donation follows a $15,000 donation Brennan made at the conclusion of Dollar Loan Center’s annual “Heat Is On” campaign in conjunction with Fox 5 News in Las Vegas.

“When you give from the heart, it can be a fun and rewarding experience,” said Linda Smith, chief development officer and associate executive director for Opportunity Village. “Charles and Dollar Loan Center set a great example for others to find fun ways to give. We appreciate him and all that he does for our organization.”

Brennan is a well-known philanthropist, giving more than $200,000 every year to deserving charities across the country. His local efforts include support of Opportunity Village and the Henderson Little League, among many others.

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. It provides them with vocational training, employment and social recreation services. Dollar Loan Center CEO Lands On Howard Stern Show To Recognize Charity Donation

Written by Dollar Loan Center. Posted in Charity, DLC, Entertainment, News

Dollar Loan Center CEO Charles Brennan found himself on the Howard Stern Show this month to announce a major charity donation. The Las Vegas-based business owner and philanthropist committed more than $50,000 to the 15 Foundation, an organization founded by Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers.

“15 Foundation is an incredible organization that helps those who are in the trenches helping people every day,” said Brennan. “I am honored to assist in their efforts to improve academics, nutrition and arts education in schools across the country and look forward to seeing what they can do with this donation.”

15 Foundation is a philanthropic initiative Quivers founded in 2010 with a mission to target organizations that are tackling some of the most pressing issues in U.S. communities. Proceeds from its donations have benefited organizations nationwide. Proceeds from its latest fundraising efforts went towards the assistance of two California based youth charities–The Edible School Yard in Berkley and Connolly Ranch in Napa Valley. Both are dedicated to teaching children about good food nutrition and helping them establish the right eating habits early in life, setting a pattern for success.

“That was a dream experience for me, but there are many other ways to help deserving organizations at any budget,” said Brennan. “I work with a group called charitybuzz that helps raise money for deserving non-profits that donors may not know about.”

charitybuzz is a cause marketing organization based in New York City. It connects non-profits with international brands and celebrity icons to raise funds through innovative online auctions including pop culture experiences, VIP events, luxury travel, fine art, couture fashion, coveted internships and upscale merchandise. Since launching, charitybuzz has raised more than $50 million for charities around the globe.

Charles Brennan recently began working with charitybuzz and said it has multiple benefits for individual and organization
donors. “They find non-profits in all areas of the country that are doing great work and need funding,” he said. “Plus the auction format makes giving even easier…especially when you get to have unique experiences that are tailored to your interests.”

Charles Brennan’s experiences through charitybuzz have included a day on the set of HBO’s hit show Entourage as well as a meeting with television producer and star Larry David. “I spent the day with the cast and crew of Entourage when they were filming the series finale. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Charles Brennan, whose companies span nearly 20 U.S. states, is a well-known philanthropist in Nevada and South Dakota where two of his companies are headquartered. This year alone, he has given more than $100,000 to community organizations including Opportunity Village and Henderson Little League, both in Southern Nevada.

Dollar Loan Center Tells Competitors To “Plank Off”

Written by Dollar Loan Center. Posted in DLC, Entertainment, News

Dollar Loan Center is telling its competitors to “Plank Off” in a new social media contest that begins today and ends November 1st. During that time, anyone over the age of 18 who likes the company on Facebook can submit a photo of themselves planking in front of a competitor’s store for the opportunity to win $100.

Planking is a popular online game in which participants photograph themselves lying face-down with their arms to their sides in unusual places. The movement began gaining its recent popularity with a Facebook group that now has nearly 800,000 followers. Players have photographed themselves on the ground, tables, chairs, mailboxes, cars and other unusual places. The game has even hit the celebrity circuit, with Chef Gordon Ramsey planking on a jet airplane and boat. Earlier this year, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner famously photographed himself planking on his dining room table.

“It’s a pretty simple concept and it’s all about having a little fun with our customers and competitors. We think there will be some pretty hilarious photos.” said Dollar Loan Center CEO Charles Brennan. “If you want to enter the “Plank Off” contest, just “like” Dollar Loan Center on Facebook and upload your photo. We will choose winners each week of the contest and if you don’t win one week you can resubmit your photo for the following week’s prizes.”

Participants in the game must agree to Dollar Loan Center’s terms for the contest, which are posted on the company’s Facebook page.

Planking is also known as “the lying down game” and players must be rigid, like a wooden plank, with their faces down and arms to their sides. Photographs are posted online. The game originated in England and has become a global phenomenon. It has also spawned similar crazes including ‘Owling’ and ‘Teapotting,’ in which participants arrange their bodies to look like owls and teapots.

Dollar Loan Center is known as one of the most charitable organizations in its industry. The company is also currently donating $100 to Opportunity Village for every touchdown made by the Oakland Raiders during the regular season. Last year the football team scored 44 touchdowns during its regular season play and this year has already scored 18 touchdowns.

In addition to his business enterprises, Brennan is one of Nevada’s most recognized philanthropists, giving thousands to local charities every year. His giving in Las Vegas has included the Henderson Little League, which was able to resume operations for the 2011 season with a $10,000 donation from Brennan. He sponsors several campaigns every year for Opportunity Village that give the organization more than $15,000 and supports food and donation drives to benefit the community.

Dollar Loan Center is a premier provider of signature loans in 49 locations throughout Nevada, South Dakota and Utah. The company and its employees give to dozens of organizations in Nevada. In 2007, Entrepreneur Magazine listed the company among its “Hot 500” Fastest Growing Businesses and Entrepreneurs.”
