Written by DLC. Posted in DLC, News, Tips

Charles Brennan, founder and CEO of Dollar Loan Center, will join “Brand Like A Rock Star” author Steve Jones for the launch of his new book and panel discussion about branding this Friday, October 7 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The launch party and discussion will be held from 4-6 p.m. and is open to the public.

“Branding Dollar Loan Center as the best short-term lender in the country has been a priority since we opened our first store in 1998,” said Charles Brennan. “Most people I meet for the first time sing me the Dollar Loan Center jingle and we have been smart enough to utilize that brand recognition in all of our new marketing campaigns.”

“I had the privilege of reading ‘Brand Like A Rock Star’ and was so impressed with it,” said Charles Brennan, a long-time fan of rock music and personal friends with many of rock’s top bands. “It almost seemed like he wrote it about me and how I have Branded Dollar Loan Center over the past 13 years. Steve really knows what he is talking about and is a great public speaker.”

Author Steve Jones will be celebrating the launch of his new book “Brand Like A Rock Star” at the event. The book reveals the core marketing and branding strategies behind the success of the world’s greatest bands. Tickets are $28 and available by calling the Hard Rock Hotel box office at 800-473-7625.

Dollar Loan Center Gives $15,000 To Las Vegas Charity

Dollar Loan Center matched its 2010 donation of $15,000 to Opportunity Village even though this summer was one of the coolest on record in Southern Nevada. Charles Brennan, CEO of Dollar Loan Center, presented the donation to Opportunity Village executive director Ed Guthrie.

“We weren’t going to let unseasonably cool weather stand in the way of a healthy donation to Opportunity Village,” said Dollar Loan Center CEO Charles Brennan. “This is the second year we have hosted the ‘Heat Is On’ campaign and it has been really fun…it has even been emulated by other organizations in Nevada this year. It makes it a lot more fun to watch the daily forecast when you know a deserving organization benefits from the high temperatures.”

The National Weather Service recorded a cooler than average summer with only 73 total days of triple-digit heat so far in 2011. Normally Las Vegas experiences about 120 days of highs over 100 every year, according to the NWS data.

Opportunity Village is Nevada’s largest not-for-profit organization serving citizens with intellectual disabilities. It provides job training, employment and other important programs and services that enable its clients to live productive, engaged lives.

“Mother Nature may have blessed us with only 73 days of triple digits so far this year,” said Linda Smith, chief development officer and foundation associate executive director for Opportunity Village. “But Dollar Loan Center really came through for our clients. It matched last year’s $15,000 donation with another $15,000 donation this year. We really appreciate that.”

Brennan is a well-known philanthropist in addition to serving as CEO Dollar Loan Center. Loan Shack, his company that provides online short-term loans, is in the process of expanding nationwide and is currently operating in 17 U.S. states.

“Opportunity Village is one of our favorite charities and does great work in Southern Nevada,” said Brennan. “It is a pleasure to help organizations like Opportunity Village that care so much about their clients and our community.”

Brennan’s giving in Las Vegas has included the Henderson Little League, which was able to resume operations for the 2011 season with a $10,000 donation from Brennan. More than 600 children participate in Henderson Little League, the city’s largest baseball organization. Brennan also hosted a food and donation drive to benefit Three Square in December.

Fox 5’s “Heat Is On” program was broadcast on KVVU Fox 5 news every evening at 5 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. and posted on its website.

Dollar Loan Center Commits $100 to Opportunity Village For Every Raiders Touchdown This Season

Dollar Loan Center is continuing its commitment to Las Vegas’ “favorite charity” with a new campaign close to every football fan’s heart…touchdowns. Through the end of the season, the company will donate $100 to Opportunity Village for every touchdown made by the Oakland Raiders.

“I’ve been a Raiders fan since I was 12 years old, so it was the first team I thought of when we put this program together,” said Charles Brennan, CEO of Dollar Loan Center. “It’s a fun way to follow the games and raise money for an organization that really appreciates it.”

The Raiders’ first regular season game is scheduled for September 12 against the Denver Broncos. As part of the campaign, all Raiders games will be broadcast live on KLAV AM 1230. For the local schedule and details, visit www.klav1230am.com. To keep up with statistics for the Oakland Raiders this season, visit www.raiders.com.

“Last year, the Raiders scored 44 touchdowns in regular season play,” said Brennan. “I hope they score more than that this season. We look forward to helping Opportunity Village again and seeing the Raiders win.”

The football program follows Dollar Loan Center’s second annual “Heat Is On” campaign that gave Opportunity Village $100 for every day the temperature in Southern Nevada reached 100 degrees or more. Both last year and this year, Brennan’s company donated $15,000 to the charity.

“Opportunity Village is an organization that needs donations on a regular basis to help those who can’t otherwise help themselves,” said Brennan. “It serves community members that can’t speak for themselves and are often overlooked by major charitable programs. We hope this campaign will bring awareness to people who may otherwise not hear about them.”

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. It provides them with vocational training, employment and social recreation services. Every month, Opportunity Village helps more than a thousand people with disabilities learn vocational skills, get jobs, pay taxes and live more fulfilling lives.

“Dollar Loan Center has once again stepped up to the plate helping us raise desperately needed dollars to expand our programs and services for people with disabilities,” said Linda Smith, chief development officer and foundation associate executive director for Opportunity Village. We truly appreciate their efforts to help these important members of our community.”

Brennan is a well-known philanthropist in addition to serving as CEO of DLC Empire. Loan Shack, his company that provides online short-term loans, is in the process of expanding nationwide and is currently operating in 17 U.S. states.

Also this year, Brennan made a major commitment to a popular local youth sports program. Henderson Little League, on the brink of shutting down for the 2011 season due to loss of major sponsors, was able to resume operations with a $10,000 donation from Dollar Loan Center. More than 600 children participate in Henderson Little League, the city’s largest baseball organization.
