Company recognized for second consecutive year in Vegas Inc program

For the second year in a row, Dollar Loan Center has been named a “Best Place to Work” in Southern Nevada. The annual program is sponsored by Vegas Inc, a Greenspun Media Group publication. Dollar Loan Center, which operates 23 stores in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, was cited for its commitment to the community in addition to providing employees with a fun and motivating work environment.

“This is an honor we share as a company,” said Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan. “We work together as a team and support each other in every way. I am usually the face of Dollar Loan Center when it comes to community giving, but it is something we are all proud to represent.”

Brennan is one of Nevada’s most well-known philanthropists, both personally and through Dollar Loan Center. The company gives hundreds of thousands locally every year, to organizations including Opportunity Village and Henderson Little League. Brennan, a former music industry executive, also founded the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in his hometown of Sioux Falls South Dakota. He organized the academy’s grand opening this spring and raised $1.2 million for its programs which benefit members of the Sioux Falls Boys & Girls Clubs.

“Charitable giving is a way for us to share our success with others, and show our appreciation for the incredible support Dollar Loan Center has in its communities,” said Brennan.

Vegas Inc also cited valuable company perks like profit sharing as well as an “attitude of gratitude” that makes Dollar Loan Center such a great place to work. “When we feel supported in our work, it shows in the service we provide our customers,” said Brennan. “We want to make someone happy every day and have that opportunity in each of our stores across the country.”

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp Father’s Day Block Party June 15 from 12pm-5pm

Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp is celebrating Father’s Day Saturday, June 15 from 12pm-5pm with the inaugural “Dad’s Rock” Block Party brought to you by Dollar Loan Center in partnership with KOMP 92.3. The party will take place at Rock at Roll Fantasy Camp located at 3485 West Harmon Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

The Father’s Day block party is fun for all ages and will feature raffles, food trucks, a car show, tours of the facility, live rock from different bands and a jam from camp counselors. People will have the chance to win concert tickets, Rock Star for a day gift certificates, and one secret GRAND PRIZE amongst many others. Special guests from the History Channel hit show, American Restoration will also be in attendance. KOMP 92.3 and on air personality, Sweet Al, will be hosting the event and there will be a live broadcast from 2:30pm-4:30pm.

Dollar Loan Center will be represented at South Jordan’s city wide celebration, Country Fest, with a vendor booth on June 14-15 and also in the parade at 9:00 am on June 15.  The celebration takes place in South Jordan City Park and the surrounding government recreation areas.

Lucky fair-goers will have the chance to jump in Dollar Loan Center’s Tornado of Cash machine and win one of many prizes. Country Fest features many activities throughout the weekend starting off Thursday night with an art show, Country Fest luncheon, Mulligans Scramble, and at night, the Carnival by City of fun. On Friday, along with the art show and carnival, you can enjoy a Dutch Oven Cook-Off, bingo, local entertainment on stage, a vendor market, a Kids Korner with pony rides and a movie in the evening.

Saturday kicks off with a 5K Run and Kid’s 1 Miler, a tennis tournament and breakfast followed by the traditional parade at 9:00 am.  After the parade you can enjoy the carnival rides, vendor market or local entertainment along with a car show, skate competition, pinewood derby competition, Sound of Music sing-a-long, draft horse pulls and a Neal McCoy concert.  To top off Country Fest, Saturday night at 10:00 pm there will be a Fireworks show to enjoy.

American Red Cross
The Red Cross provides shelters in several communities. You may donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund here, additionally, the organization suggests giving blood at a hospital or blood bank. If you wish to send a $10 contribution for the Disaster Relief fund via text message, that can be done by texting REDCROSS to 90999. The donation shows up on your cellular bill, or will be taken off your balance for those who have a prepaid phone. You have to be 18 or older, or have your parents permission, to give using this method.

OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund
Oklahoma, coordinating through the United Way of Central Oklahoma, set up the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund to assist with the long-term healthcare, emotional and academic demands of victims from the May 20 tornado in Moore and the May 19 tornado near Shawnee. Contributions can be carried out on the web at UnitedWayOKC.org.

Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is looking to get financial contributions. To give, go to the regional food bank’s website, or give $10 by texting FOOD to 32333.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is arranging catastrophe response units to supply hard-hit areas in central Oklahoma where it’s delivering portable kitchens that will serve meals for up to 2,500 people per day, and also to South Oklahoma City. Supporters can contribute on the web through the organization’s website, SalvationArmyUSA.org. You may also text STORM to 80888 to make a $10 donation via mobile phone.

Central Oklahoma Humane Society
The Central Oklahoma Humane Society needs bathroom towels, paper towels, chlorine bleach, rubber gloves and pet crates to assist displaced and wounded animals. Charitable contributions can be done on the web here and need to be specified for the “OK Humane Disaster Relief Fund.”
